Naturally, I had to know what it says. Bob's darling daughter Kathy is a woman of many talents, one of which is that she is fluent in Spanish (teaches it). I copied the email and asked her if she had time to translate it. She very graciously did. I was kind of creeped out by it, but I needn't have worried. When I read it this morning I laughed out loud.

Cabaret

Judy and I saw Cabaret last Thursday at Drury Lane. The set was really interesting and unusual. I loved it. And, the cast was large and very good. The costumes are beautiful, as is the cast. All in all, I enjoyed it very much. I had seen it on stage before, but not for some time, and had kind of forgot what the story was about. Definitely not an 'upper'. It's against the rules to take pictures or record any portion of the show, but I didn't think there would be any objection to taking a picture of the 'set' so I did. Judy wasn't so sure...
We always meet early and enjoy and nice dinner and catching up, before the show. The food is excellent, so it's a nice treat every so often. The Subscription includes 5 or 6 plays a season, I can't remember for sure. This has been a great season. Next is Thoroughly Modern Millie, and Funny Girl is the last, opening in Jan. 2010.
BTW, K wasn't there this time.

Hi fellow scavengers! Here is a web site I found out about on Sunday from two of my favorite people, my Pastor and his wife.

I know, I know – why did I wait so long to pass it on? Well it took me until yesterday afternoon to remember!
It’s called ‘Freecycle’ and is a web site where you can give away stuff you don’t want and to get free stuff you do want. Cool, huh?

I think I just googled freecycle to find it. Let me know if you have a problem finding it. When you sign up you also choose your area, so it is convenient.

Pillowcases

A client asked me to do some pillowcases for her. She's a 'Fairy Grandmother'. I'm not clear on how - perhaps as a reader in the library. Anyway, they turned out very nice. I just shipped them and and waiting to hear how she likes them.

Yesterday was Geneva day. I was trying to decide if I wanted to drive or train, when the decision was made for me - I missed my train! Actually, I was standing on the other side waiting for a freight to pass. It usually passes before the passenger pulls out - or so I thought. . . Rain was predicted and i wasn't looking forward to walking in the rain dragging my computer, so I guess it worked out OK. I was only a few minutes late opening the store and nobody noticed. Amy and I had a nice lunch together. I look forward to being in Geneva because I get to see her. We exchange orders/deliveries, discuss orders pending and just generally 'catch up'. Thursday nights I have dinner with my Mom, which I also look forward to. Bob teaches 'Chung' on Thursday nights, so it's a girls night. We have a leisurely dinner at the Elmhurst Restaurant where the waitresses are used to us and don't rush us.

Look who I met in Geneva

I was walking along, on my way to the train station and came upon this clever Lion metal sculpture. The Knight was neat, too, but . . . the lion is wonderful! He's made entirely out of bicycle parts! He's all silver except for his red eyes (reflectors) and tan cheeks which I think are bike seats. (What do you think they are? You can see them in the front view.) It made me want to start collecting old bicycle parts. I'm sure it's welded, though, and 'they' don't let me play with dangerous tools. Too bad ...

Congressman Dennis Kucinich

Bob and I want to hear Congressman Dennis Kucinich talk about single payer health care Sunday. They expected about 200 people and 400 turned out! It was a very interesting afternoon, filled with good information. We really have to make our wishes known and not let the corporations run our Country!
The picture is Dennis responding to a question from a teenager in the audience. It's great to see kids taking an interest in politics.

Purse

Isn't this a great family picture? My client gave this purse to her mother as a birthday gift. Her mom is one of the kids in the picture. I was just thinking about how serene the Mom looks in this photo. Imagine getting 14 children ready for a family photo, and the little guy in front looks to be about 1 year to 18 months old. She was amazing!
