House Quilt Block 8

I know, I know - it's October for Pete's sake! I just finished my August house and am starting to work on September. The new block will out on the 15th. I may be caught up by then...

I went a little crazy with the pattern on this house. I wanted it to look like tile. I think it will be all right with the others - but it doesn't look too good by itself (sigh).

Its Official! I'm officially behind now

I just started working on block 6 and couldn't figure out why it wasn't block 7. Then it dawned on me that I was a month behind. I want to catch up so it isn't overwhelming.

The little houses in the BOM are so difficult for me, I'm very excited when the block turns out the right size. I'm officially behind now. June was an awful month and July isn't shaping up much better. The June house turns out to be a house and dog house, both! And, with lots of triangles! Not my best thing.

House Quilt Block 4

Another little house - ready for the quilt! I'm slowing down in my quilt block production, but still keeping up. This is my best one so far. The squares are getting 'squarer'.

I like the way they all look together. Waiting to see all the finished quilts is the hardest part for me. I'm trying to copy all the little houses to a folder, sorted by the quilters name, so I can get an idea of how they will look. I guess that's a little obsessive.

Joanna has some great demos on her site for making triangles. They were very helpful.

Short Day

This is going to be a short day. I don't think the heat is working in our building. Usually when I open the door in the morning, the heat hits me in the face. This morning it was cold air that hit me! The temp read 53*. I'll probably leave after the mail man comes by. My friend Karen had a cool quilt on her blog, with a challenge to join with her in making it, one block a month. Of course, I couldn't resist - like I need something else to do (she said sarcastically)
It looks like fun - so I'm in. What about YOU? Here's the link, if you are interested. http://www.forevergreenquilts.com/free-quilt-block-patterns-BOM2009.html Please let me know if you decide to join in.
