Kim, my favorite daughter-in-law, is amazing! She is an R.N.; she manages the employee health department at CDH; she and Tom grow crops on a farm-ette; raise bees; have a huge garden, two great dogs and two great, grown up boys! There's more - Kim is a Master Gardner, and Card Maker extrordinaire. She's also a wonderful cook and hostess. I could go on and on, but I won't.
Here are a few pictures. Eggs from the farm, that are almost to beautiful to eat, and my Kim-made Mother's Day card.
One of my favorite pictures of Kim and Tom. I call it their 'yearbook' picture - don't ask me why.
My beautiful Amy hosted our family celebration and every one had a great time. My favorite daughter-in-law Kim, made a delicious strawberry salad with home grown spinach, feta and her own dressing. I call her 'Martha'. Tommy had to work - his shift has worked every holiday lately! I hope that changes soon. My Mom will be 91 in a few weeks! She's still driving and has a cute condo in Wood Dale where she enjoys the pool and visiting with her neighbors.
I 'borrowed' these pictures from Amy's blog because we haven't downloaded ours yet. There may be more coming.
Amy's house is all fixed thanks to her friend Mike. The previous 'tenant' really damaged the kitchen and other areas, so it's wonderful to see it back to it's 'best' and then some. Thanks, Mike! You do good work!!
Graduated from Lake Park H S in Medinah, went to secretarial school, worked a few years, married and had 3 great kids. I have 2 grandsons, 4 grand dogs (Griffons)& 2 grand cats (Maine Coon). When my first 2 children were in grade school I was a professional volunteer, active in PTA, Elmhurst Children’s Theatre & Church stuff. I started a small business while expecting my third and have been working ever since. I'm a fibre artist combining cloth, yarn, and photography. Carolee Creations, Inc. is the corporate name - SewSweet Dolls was the first business. Portrait Pillows, Bags and more . . . is my latest venture, started in ‘98, after my husband died. My daughter and I make custom gift items incorporating photographs - purses, coasters, jewelry, ornaments, quilts, etc. I love going to work every day-my studio is full of fun things! I am in a serious relationship with Bob, a retired Psychology prof, since the beginning of the century. We are involved in activities at First Church and in Elmhurst. When we have time we like to travel. I take sewing classes when I can fit them in, recently learned to weave, and would like to draw and paint again someday.
