Lamp for child's room

This is a test. I was having trouble uploading pictures. I think I had too many files open as it seems to be working now.

Bobby and the Easter Bunny

Look who we ran in to on Saturday!

You're never too old to enjoy a visit with the Easter Bunny! We found this very friendly bunny outside the Fruitful Yield, our favorite health food store in downtown Elmhusrt. I carry my camera everywhere since Bob gave me this nice little one for my last birthday. 'Photo ops' pop up when you least expect them!

We did our shopping, got lots of samples and a free back massage, in the store. Yipee!

Janey's birthday dress

Janey, after school.

I sent Janey's birthday gift a little late, because I wanted to be sure i was sending the correct size. In the meantime, I realized that Janey is quite an artist, so i decided to include some special pens as part of her gift. My niece Hilary, Janey and Lauren's mom, sent these wonderful pictures and I couldn't resist posting them. So cute...

Little sister Lauren the next day, while Janey was at school.

Steven Wright witticisms

I really enjoyed this, and thought putting it on my blog would be a good way to share it. Enjoy!

If you're not familiar with the work of Steven Wright, he's the famous erudite scientist who once said, "I woke up one morning, and all of my stuff had been stolen and replaced by exact duplicates." His mind sees things differently than most of us do, to our amazement and amusement. Here are some of his gems:

1 I'd kill for a Nobel Peace Prize.
2 Borrow money from pessimists - they don't expect it back.
3 Half the people you know are below average.
4 99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name.
5 82.7% of all statistics are made up on the spot.
6 A conscience is what hurts when all your other parts feel so good.
7 A clear conscience is usually the sign of a bad memory.
8 If you want the rainbow, you got to put up with the rain.
9 All those who believe in psycho kinesis, raise my hand.
10 The early bird may get the worm, but the second mouse gets the cheese.
11 I almost had a psychic girlfriend.....but she left me before we met.
12 OK, so what's the speed of dark?
13 How do you tell when you're out of invisible ink?
14 If everything seems to be going well, you have obviously overlooked something.
15 Depression is merely anger without enthusiasm.
16 When everything is coming your way, you're in the wrong lane.
17 Ambition is a poor excuse for not having enough sense to be lazy.
18 Hard work pays off in the future; laziness pays off now.
19 I intend to live forever.... so far, so good.
20 If Barbie is so popular, why do you have to buy her friends?
21 Eagles may soar, but weasels don't get sucked into jet engines.
22 What happens if you get scared half to death twice?
23 My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
24 Why do psychics have to ask you for your name?
25 If at first you don't succeed, destroy all evidence that you tried..
26 A conclusion is the place where you got tired of thinking.
27 Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.
28 The hardness of the butter is proportional to the softness of the bread
29 To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research.
30 The problem with the gene pool is that there is no lifeguard.
31 The sooner you fall behind, the more time you'll have to catch up.
32 The colder the x-ray table, the more of your body is required to be on it.
33 Everyone has a photographic memory;some just don't have film.
34 If your car could travel at the speed of light, would your headlights work?

Little boys had such cute clothes, didn't they?

I love this picture. Old photographs are such a treasure. This is my father and his little brother circa 1920.
When I was little I played with the toys my grandmother saved from Daddy and Uncle Tom's childhood. How great is that! I still have as many of them as I could hang on to. There are little records, very thick, in beautifully illustrated albums, made like books. Also, a really cool 'musical instrument' that is a player harmonica. I can still remember using it and inhaling a lot of dust. You kind of have to huff and puff into it, while turning the little handle to keep the 'roll' (smaller version of a player piano roll) moving. The thing that I wish I still had is the circus set of wooden animals and props, all jointed. I guess there wasn't room for it in our new house, so it had to go...

Procrastinating, again . . .

One of the reasons we moved to the first floor (or moved at all) was because the ceiling leaked off and on. Dale (the building fix-it man) tried and tried and tried to have the problem fixed. It had to do with the air conditioning duct work in the ceiling over my suite. Anyway, one weekend there was a serious leak and my sample quilt was ruined. I've been so depressed about it - that I haven't made a new one. I know it doesn't make sense, as I need the sample to get more orders. I took it apart and will wash the parts, but the pictures are permanently stained - so I'm really starting over. Fortunately, I found similar fabric and the end result hopefully, will be the same.
I purchase the blank quilts, then embellish them with photographs, etc. We've sold a lot for wedding anniversaries. This is a 'painless' way to do a quilt and makes it affordable to customers.

The Cats take over, again

Amy and George have spent over a year letting the cats and dogs adjust to each other, and it paid off! The cats have now taken over the dog's beds. I guess the dogs have to sleep on the couch - too bad. sometimes they all sleep on the bed. You can see more pictures of my Grand-pets on Amy's blog at mfasblog.blogspot.com.
